Why Is Our Metabolism Slow?

Why is our metabolism slow?

From the previous article, we learned that our metabolism can be slow. Which is often not fun at all.

Now let’s think about why. It is gratifying that more and more young people are thinking.

So what are the causes of a slow metabolism?

  1. Lifestyle.

There is no way, without changing anything in our lifestyle, we can expect anything to change. But let’s find out what our lifestyle entails. Maybe some ladies think that buying great shoes will skyrocket their metabolism. Even if it does, it is a false, temporary feeling. But let’s put fashion trends aside. By way of life we will now understand the regime of nutrition, physical activity and rest.

  1. Food.

It is not by chance that I single it out as a separate reason. Because it is basic. More than 80% of our troubles are due to eating mistakes. If it is not balanced, if it is not at approximately equal intervals 5-6 times during the day, if it is not healthy and is filled with “empty foods”, complete chaos occurs in our body. For such a complex process as metabolism, this chaos cannot but slow it down. In addition, nutrition must be adapted to many factors and periods of a person’s life – youth, pregnancy, nursing period, critical age, old age, gender, if you want, even traditions, etc.

  • Diets.

A diet actually means a diet and there is nothing wrong with dieting. But we are used to “diet” meaning some restriction of certain food products, strict restrictive rules and often even starvation.

Our body is a complex system of a trillion and more cells that need some 114 substances – macro and micronutrients. If we don’t provide them, he suffers. It accumulates a shortage of them and tries to store at least energy to exist. And how? Well, in the form of fat and a slow metabolism to survive longer in harsher circumstances.

Even if we do not follow a strict restrictive diet, the production and the commercial network voluntarily or involuntarily impose it on us – the composition of the products is not the same as the analogous ones from 20-30 or more years ago. I’m sure you can easily explain this yourself – depleted soil, accumulated harmful substances, unscrupulous producers and traders looking for a quick profit, etc.

  • Empty foods.

Foods that provide us with only calories and almost no nutrients are defined as empty. The body is not prepared for such a senseless action. It is not in his nature to process something that only harms him. Obviously the metabolism will be hindered again. If you join our support groups, you will learn, among many other things, what the glycemic index is, the nutritional value and nutritional density of different foods, which ones to avoid and which ones and how to combine them to avoid empty foods on your table.

  • Shortage.

The deficiency can be different – from macronutrients and most often protein, or from various micronutrients that are needed in very small amounts, but their complete absence or deficiency is decisive for many problems. Until the necessary substances are restored, in certain quantities and in balance with the others, there is no way to speed up the metabolism. It’s like driving a car without putting the right amount of oil in it – it will squeal, squeal, then smoke and stop…

  • Alcohol.

It’s not about scarcity. I have already described its influence in more detail and in accessible language, and now I will mention only one thing – alcohol makes it difficult for the liver, which is a key organ in the exchange of substances (ie metabolism). And for this, it does not matter what the alcohol is (beer, wine, brandy, etc.), everyone has such an undesirable effect.

  • Water.

All processes in our body take place in a water environment. Well, since there is not enough water, it is logical that they take place much more slowly, if they take place at all. And what’s worse, waste accumulates, further slowing them down. Imagine the company that collects garbage in your neighborhood not working for several months – well, you too will die stuck in your own garbage! Sometimes I wonder how our body copes with this.

  • Regime and periodicity of feeding.

Metabolism is an extremely complex process, composed of smaller processes that have a certain duration and sequence, built up over millions of years of evolution. We can’t help but comply with this. Yes, the human organism is highly adaptable, but for one human life it will certainly not succeed. Moreover, even in the conditions of so many harms, it will rather perish than change. We also explain some of these processes in the support groups. For example, the work of the pancreas and the production of insulin. You too may benefit from these tutorials. Look for us to find out when the next group will be.

  1. Physical activity and sports.

Muscles are the tissue that “burns” the most calories per unit of time. If we lack physical activity, the muscles slowly “go away”. It leads to fatigue, lethargy, lack of energy, reluctance to do any activities, depressions and other modern conditions. Great physical activity combined with improper nutrition also has an undesirable effect. We come to the meal again. No matter how great the physical activity, it cannot compensate for the “sanctification” of the refrigerator before or after it. And it cannot be greater than a certain degree, because overexertion leads to even worse consequences and the body reacts in some way in an attempt to protect itself.

  1. Rest.

Rest and sleep are equally important times in the overall metabolic process. It cannot be ignored. If we do not provide it in the necessary amount and part of the day, the metabolism further slows down to remove the effects of the chaos.

  1. Hormonal imbalance.

No process in the body occurs without the participation or influence of hormones. The thyroid gland is particularly critical in hormonal balance, and women are more often affected by it. It also produces hormones on which the speed of chemical reactions in our body directly depends. Yes, but in order for it to function normally, we need to provide it with proper nutrition again. If we don’t do it, the hormonal balance will be disturbed, which most often manifests itself in excess weight. It will further complicate all the functions of the body and close this vicious circle, from which many people think it is difficult to get out.

And actually it is not that difficult and we know how. We have achieved it ourselves (see our stories) and we constantly achieve it with our clients. Our support groups achieve exactly this effect – with a personally prepared diet, with the constant support of the nutrition coach and other participants, everyone manages to achieve the desired results. And whether it will moan in normal terms or drag on – it depends on them – our trainers do their best. And you know how to find us!
