Cold weather, heating and overeating can all affect the condition and appearance of your skin during the winter season. So, here’s a slight reminder of the golden rules for happy winter skin:
Golden Rule 1: Moisturize your skin
Make sure you use a great moisturizer for your face every morning and evening and give your body something that contains nourishing shea butter, such as argan or coconut oil, daily. This can help keep the skin smooth and protected *. Remember to put on a lip balm as often as you can remember. Keep a lip balm by the bed, in the car and in the pockets of your coat so that it is always at your fingertips.
Golden Rule 2: Hydration, hydration, hydration
Heating can have a drying effect on the body, so do not save your daily water intake. Experiment with herbal and fruit teas (all count) or revive your water bottle with fresh fruit pieces. You may want to consider a humidifier at home to counteract the drying effect of the heaters.
Golden Rule 3: Vacation is the best thing
Your skin will thank you for an abundant break – and it will show if it hasn’t been good enough. So, consider going to bed one or two nights so that you can catch up with your sleep while helping to remove dark circles under the eyes and withered skin. Remember, bedtime is a great opportunity to put on a moisturizing product and leave it to work wonders at night.
Help your skin this winter!
