Attention Deficit Disorder Syndrome
A common occurrence. 85% of people do not even know it applies to them.
If it is found in children, parents often think that it will “fade away” with age. Error.
Often combined with hyperactivity. In hyperactivity, unless otherwise triggered, simple carbohydrates predominate. We know of many cases where, with nutrition adjustments, hyperactivity disappears – upon reaching a balance of 30% protein – 30% fat – 40% carbohydrates from the required caloric intake. But the attention deficit remains.
Should we be bothered by this?
My official answer is “I don’t know. Consult a doctor. ”
My personal opinion has been shaped by what has been read in the specialized literature and myriad personal stories.
And it is that we can use ADDS (Attention Deficit Disorder Syndrome) to our advantage.
Ever heard of Adam Lavin (Maroon 5 front man)?
As a kid, it was impossible for him to sit in the same place, to be focused on the same thing for a long time, to finish his schoolwork completely. Sam knows that he is capable of being a good student, but because of attention deficit, he fails (he only understood the syndrome when he had finished school).
However, the syndrome does not prevent him from winning with his band all major musical honors, including Grammy. It doesn’t stop him from earning over $ 35 million a year.
According to him, having attention deficit disorder is “like having a Ferrari engine for your brain, but being equipped with bicycle brakes.”
People with this syndrome are the inventors and innovators, engines and creators of our society.
Edward Hallowell, a global expert on hyperactivity and attention deficit disorder, concludes that we need to use more analogies to make it easier to understand the syndrome in non-medical settings.
People with this syndrome are creative and imaginative. Which ordinary person will board a ship and sail to America? Columbus did it.
You need to be a visionary, a pioneer, a dreamer and ready to take risks. This is exactly how these people are. According to Halowell, “people with DDA have new ideas all the time. They’re like a popcorn machine. ”
Or, “Take someone to a farm and leave him alone for a week. If, when you return afterwards, he has turned the farm into an amusement park, then there is a HADW (hyperactivity and attention deficit). If it rests quietly on the porch, this is a grave case for modern life. ”
Or: “The mind of a person with ADHD is like having a little picnic child. He goes where the mind leads him, without thinking of danger or discipline. Sometimes it shuts down and gets into trouble, sometimes it detects penicillin. ”
Or: “Telling someone with HADW to try harder is like telling a blind person to look better. It’s not a matter of effort or desire, it’s how you are programmed. ”
It turns out that people can take advantage of this givenness by focusing on activities related to new ideas, creativity and bold decisions, and there they will be on their own!
There are many stories of famous people, evidence of this: in addition to Adam Levine and Columbus with this syndrome are Albert Einstein, Jamie Oliver, Jim Carrey, Justin Timberlake, Michael Phelps, Richard Branson, Walt Disney, Henry Ford and many others.
Can’t you succeed in life too? Or your child?
There are no restrictions … except maybe in your thinking.
