Oat, coconut and quinoa bars: energy bomb
Crunchy and nutritious bars, perfect for breakfast or an afternoon snack. The combination of oats, coconut and quinoa provides energy and protein throughout the day. The sweet taste of the dates is balanced by the slight crunch of the quinoa and oats. Made with Protein Drink Mix and Formula 3 Custom Protein Powder*, these bars are a nutritional powerhouse packed with high-quality protein from quinoa and flaxseed and the delicious natural sweetness of dates.

Products required:
- 1 serving (28 g) Herbalife Protein Drink Mix
- 2 servings (12g) Herbalife Formula 3 Custom Protein Powder
- 25 g quinoa, red or white
- 25 g of flaxseed
- 250 g fine oats
- 50 g desiccated coconut
- 175 g of coconut oil
- 135 ml of agave syrup
- 100 g of dates, finely chopped
Method of preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 180° C (160° C fan).
- Line a square pan with parchment paper.
- Steam the quinoa in a dry skillet over medium heat, stirring regularly, for a few minutes until it darkens a few shades and is toasted. Remove from the pan and set aside to cool.
- Grind the flaxseed into a powder in a blender.
- Combine the dry ingredients: oats, quinoa, ground flaxseed, desiccated coconut, Formula 3 Custom Protein Powder and the Protein Drink Mix.
- Heat the coconut oil in a saucepan – over medium to high heat – until melted.
- Add the agave syrup.
- Pour in the chopped dates.
- Pour the mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients and mix until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden.
- Leave to cool in the tray, then remove – with the paper, and cut into 16 blocks. Place on a wire rack to cool.

Tips:
- For a more varied taste, you can add nuts, seeds or dried fruits to the mixture.
- You can shape the blocks into different shapes, for example round or square.
- For a sweeter version, add a little more agave syrup.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week. Another option for longer storage is to freeze them.
