Ikigai – “the reason for being”
Ikigai is a term from the Japanese philosophy of longevity. In general, ikigai means “the reason for being”.
Ikigai makes a person’s life worthwhile and useful, and he himself – happy.
Whether he understands it or not, every person has his own “ikigai”. But not everyone has reached it. Most people don’t even try. They blame everything and everyone and don’t try to understand that the cause of their unhappiness may be within themselves.
The term is Japanese, but if you look at the diagram, you will easily understand that it applies to all of us.
Every person with a big goal or dream in life can easily place it in the place designated in the ikigai diagram. What they call it is not so important. What is important is to define it. To make sense of it. And to strive for it.
To reach it, a person must first get to know themselves: what they love, what they are good at, how they want to make a living.
They must also know the reality around them in order to determine how they can be useful to this world, what their mission is.
In this way, the path to it will be exciting, and their life – worthwhile.
The diagram is extremely expressive and anyone can understand it by examining it and thinking about it.
